When two of the biggest projects on Cardano collaborate, you know its going to be huge. But wow, this was on another level. Claymates and SweetFellas joined forces on this NFT Project to produce a total of 1100 Cardano Assets. The desire to purchase was so signficant, Joel Madden from Good Charlotte was talking about it. Needless to say, every CNFT holder wanted one.
The launch took place on October 6th at 11am PST. The sale was over 10 seconds later. But that certainly wasnt the end of the effect it had on the Cardano Ecosystem. It was fascinating to witness. So many transactions were sent, that it took over a half hour for all of the inbound transactions to be registered. The inbound transactions exceed the amount available by 8 to 1. All told, over half a million Ada was sent, in hopes of securing one.
The drop was hosted by none other than Buffy Bot. Their servers handled it with impressive efficiency. The backlog of UTxO’s prevented transactions from being instantly sent back out, so the first ClayFella’s started minting 5 minutes after the drop started, all while more UTxO’s flooded in. By 20 minutes after, all 1100 ClayFellas wered minted. But the mint wallet still had over 300k ada in it, and the number continued to climb. It was roughly 40 minutes before we started to see the Ada amount beginning to trend downwards. 30 minutes later, the wallet was empty. It took just over an hour for Buffy Bot to process all 8800 transactions; most of which being refunds.
